Fan brings Rwanda's future grand prix circuit to life in "Assetto Corsa" simulation
A fan-built Assetto Corsa mod is giving audiences an early, cockpit-style glimpse of what Rwanda’s future Grand Prix circuit could feel like—though creators stress it’s not the real layout yet. Footage from an onboard camera clip began circulating within 72 hours after Formula 1 revealed a decade-long deal to race in Africa. The modder, Nukedrop, says the track was created in roughly the last 24 hours by matching a single F1 preview render to airport imagery and using real elevation data. The simulation uses a Ferrari in its current red-and-white livery with No. 44 (Hamilton) and is now associated with about 41,000 viewers and roughly 695 likes. The official circuit is described as about 6 km, 17 corners, anti-clockwise, developed in Bugesera near an airport due in 2028, with gradients reported at 12–13%.
