Fast, furious and dangerous' - a Birmingham's quad bike menace

Residents in Birmingham say quad bikes and off-road motorcycles are being ridden through the city centre in ways that create safety risks and noise complaints. One unnamed local says the engines often start before the vehicles appear, with groups weaving through traffic, doing wheelies and ignoring signals in areas including Hurst Street, Bristol Road and Corporation Street. Videos shared on social media show riders with faces covered and no visible number plates; one clip depicts a pedestrian narrowly avoiding being hit. The resident says the problem has been recurring for about a year. Birmingham-based content creator GB Street Stories reported witnessing illegal driving, wrong-side travel and speed through stop signs at tram tracks. Wardens can’t stop riders but coordinate with West Midlands Police and Birmingham City Council.
