Firms including Chevron, ONGC, GE Vernova on track to sign final pacts in Venezuela, sources say

U.S. companies Chevron, GE Vernova, and India’s ONGC, alongside Italy’s Eni and Colombia’s GeoPark, are reportedly on track to sign final agreements for energy projects in Venezuela after months of talks, according to four sources familiar with preparations. Reuters reports the deals could be signed as early as this week, though the pacts are separate from a large Caracas–Washington agreement announced last week. That separate accord is aimed at giving the United States a stake in 17 oilfields with about 64 billion barrels of proved reserves—roughly a fifth of Venezuela’s total crude. Eni said it is working with local counterparts and other authorities to support revitalization efforts.
