Ford recalls 10,001 vehicles: Possible drive power loss impacts several popular 2026 models

Ford will recall 10,001 vehicles because the engine piston domes may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can lead to a loss of drive power. The recall affects select 2026 Bronco, Bronco Sport, Explorer, Mustang and Ranger vehicles. Ford lists 1,062 Bronco, 5,199 Bronco Sport, 3,071 Explorer, 237 Mustang and 432 Ranger units. NHTSA documents say the piston domes can fail, increasing the risk of a crash. In some cases, drivers could see a Check Engine Light, experience engine noise, or misfires. Ford reports no known injuries or crashes. Dealers will inspect and replace the engine long block if needed, with repairs expected to be ready in December 2026.
