Ford recalls nearly 149,000 Mustang vehicles over potential power issue
xCruzo Brief
Ford is recalling 148,663 2024–2026 Mustang vehicles due to an electrical wiring issue that could cause a loss of drive power or disrupt functions including the windshield washing system, headlights, air conditioning, or the engine cooling fan. Federal safety regulators say the risk includes a potential crash. The affected cars were produced between Sept. 7, 2022 and June 9, 2026. NHTSA expects about 1% of the vehicles to have the defect. Owner notification letters are scheduled for Aug. 31 to Sept. 4, with additional letters once a remedy is ready around March 2027. Repairs are free at Ford or Lincoln dealers.
