Ford recalls nearly 160K cars that could lose drive power

Ford has issued two vehicle recalls totaling nearly 160,000 units due to risks that could affect drive power. One recall covers 148,663 2024–2026 Mustang cars, where wiring harness ground eyelets in the engine compartment may fracture. Ford says heat-shrink adhesive can reduce the eyelets’ lifespan as the car vibrates, and if eyelets break the vehicle could lose drive power entirely; some cars could also see stops in functions such as headlights, windshield washer fluid pump, air conditioning, or the engine cooling fan. The fix is replacement with a revised design. A second recall involves 10,001 2026 models across the Bronco, Bronco Sport, Explorer, Ranger, and Mustang lines due to possible piston failure on Ford’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost.
