Ford Wants To Somehow Sell 100,000 Ford Fathom EVs In Its First Year - Jalopnik

Ford’s upcoming Fathom all-electric pickup is reportedly tied to an extremely ambitious U.S. sales target: more than 100,000 trucks in its first year on sale. The price is expected to start around $29,945 next year, but hitting that volume would make the Fathom one of the top-selling EVs in the country—something no automaker other than Tesla has managed with a single model. Tesla sold 357,000 Model Ys and 190,000 Model 3s, while Ford’s earlier EVs, including the electric F-150 Lightning, couldn’t reach comparable numbers. Ford halted Lightning production late last year and says it cut costs via a simpler design and revamped manufacturing. The company also touts features like Apple Maps, more interior space than a Toyota RAV4, in-bed power outlets, and Level 2 BlueCruise.
