Ford reports Q2 sales down 10% as it transforms the business
Ford reported Q2 sales declining as it transforms its lineup, with the company pointing to model rollouts and weaker commercial fleet demand. On July 2, Ford said it sold 549,200 vehicles in the United States in the second quarter, down 10.3% from 612,095 a year earlier. For the first half, U.S. sales fell 9.6% to 1,006,515 from 1,113,386 in the first half of 2025. Luxury brand Lincoln sales dropped 15.8% to 26,389, while Ford brand sales fell 10% to 522,811. Ford maintained its lead in the U.S. pickup market, delivering 357,801 F-Series pickups through June. The company also said its estimated June retail share rose 0.2 points to 12.3%, supported by high-margin SUVs and F-Series. Ford is phasing out the Escape and Lincoln Corsair and ending their production at Kentucky’s Louisville Assembly plant to retool for an all-new small electric pickup on its Universal Electric Vehicle platform, launching in 2027 with a starting price of $30,000. Ford noted that, excluding model transitions and assuming flat rental volumes, Q2 sales would have increased an estimated 0.5%.
