Formula 1 parent company Liberty Media reached an about $3 million settlement in the Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023 tickets lawsuit. The agreement resolves a class-action brought by spectators over disruptions tied to the inaugural 2023 race, including an interruption during opening-night practice. On Nov. 16, 2023, a practice session was halted after nine minutes when Carlos Sainz Jr. damaged his Ferrari by driving over a water valve cover; the session resumed early the next day and ended around 4 a.m. local time on Nov. 17. Fans were removed from viewing areas before the final 90-minute session portion. Ticket holders for only that practice session and buyers of three-night tickets are eligible for compensation, with claims due by Aug. 27. A final approval hearing is scheduled for Nov. 4 in U.S. District Court of Nevada.
