Girl, nine, dies at scene of crash involving car and pick-up truck

A nine-year-old girl died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash in the Highlands on Wednesday, emergency services said. The collision happened on the A813 at about 5:30 p.m. between Drumnadrochit and Cannich and involved a Volkswagen Polo and a Ford Ranger. An air ambulance was dispatched, but the girl—traveling as a rear passenger in the VW Polo—was pronounced dead at the scene.
