Google's Universal Cart shopping tool launches in the US

Google says its Universal Cart shopping tool is now available to U.S. users. First previewed at Google I/O in May, it lets shoppers collect and monitor items they find across Google Search and the Gemini app in a single place. When users return later, the cart preserves both the selected products and their progress, so they don’t need to re-find the same items. Universal Cart can aggregate products from multiple retailers and aims to surface deal and availability updates, including notifications for price drops and restocks. It also ties checkout to Google’s Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), an open standard intended to connect AI agents, retailers, and checkout.
