Group 1 Automotive Aligns Its Columbus Subaru Dealership Under the Group 1 Name

Group 1 Automotive has rebranded its Columbus, Georgia Subaru store, shifting from Rivertown Subaru to Group 1 Subaru Rivertown, effective September 15, 2025. The change is part of a wider effort by the Houston-based retailer to unify its dealership network under the Group 1 name across the U.S. and U.K., but the company says it does not involve any change in ownership, staff, or daily operations. The dealership, located at 1671 Whittlesey Road, continues serving the Chattahoochee Valley with new and pre-owned vehicles and Subaru service, parts and maintenance. Group 1 says customers will keep the same local team while gaining access to the scale, resources and standards of the broader group. Group 1 operates 251 dealerships across 37 vehicle brands, offering sales, financing and service support, including collision assistance.
