In a July 1, 2026 announcement, the Houston-based dealership group said the location has operated under its new name since April 9, 2026, following the company’s initiative to unify its retail network across the U.S. and U.K. The company stated the rebrand does not involve changes in ownership, staffing, product offerings, or day-to-day operations, and customers continue working with the same local team and Chevrolet expertise. Group 1 said the new name formally links the dealership to its national platform, offering local customers support from Group 1’s resources, technology, and operational standards. Group 1 Chevrolet Hub City continues to serve from 1302 South Loop 289, supporting Lubbock and surrounding West Texas communities with new Chevrolet vehicles, pre-owned options, certified service, parts, and maintenance. Michael Wims, general manager, said the customer experience remains consistent and transparent, regardless of whether buyers shop, service, or trade in.
