Honda HR-V Review: Practical, Slow, Not as Cool as the Fit It Replaced
xCruzo Brief
The 2027 Honda HR-V sets a different baseline for “small” cars, coming in at 3,150 pounds (3,275 with all-wheel drive) after evolving from the Honda Fit but growing substantially. Based on Civic architecture, it’s taller and roomier, with available AWD, and the outgoing generation largely carries over from its 2022 launch as a 2023 model. Power comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 158 hp and 138 lb-ft at 4,200 rpm, paired with a continuously variable transmission. In the reviewer’s hands—driving an all-wheel-drive EX-L—the CVT and overall pace feel slow.
