Honda May Make CR-V And Accord Hybrid-Only, Element Revival Still Rumored

Honda’s next decade product plan is tilting toward hybrids, with the CR-V and Accord potentially moving to hybrid-only redesigns sometime in the late 2020s. A supplier memo cited by Automotive News says the current gasoline-only Accord runs through March 2030, after which the redesign could make it hybrid-only. Honda is also targeting about 15 new hybrid models for North America by around 2030, alongside a global plan for more than 15 next-generation hybrids by fiscal 2030. Honda executives told reporters hybrid demand—not regulation—drives choices on core models like the Accord, CR-V and Civic. Separate reporting still keeps the Element revival for late 2028-2029 in play.
