Honda's Ready to Take on Grand Highlander With Super-Sized Pilot: TDS

Honda is reportedly planning a new, larger SUV to take on the Toyota Grand Highlander, positioned above its current top family model, the Pilot. The automaker is said to be in early planning for a three-row vehicle with a focus on comfort, with a target launch date as far out as 2032. That timing would keep Honda from matching Toyota’s momentum in the near term. Separately, Toyota and Lexus SUVs are facing a limited recall affecting 617 vehicles due to forged front-steering knuckles that may be brittle and prone to shattering under force. The list includes the Grand Highlander and Lexus TX, plus earlier rear-axle carrier issues tied to the same supplier.
