Honda "super bad" in Indonesian GP practice after falling behind 2025 pace

Honda riders described a disappointing start to the Indonesian Grand Prix weekend after falling well behind 2025 pace in Mandalika practice. Factory rider Luca Marini finished 1.3 seconds off the pace in 14th with the best of his four RC213Vs, while LCR’s Johann Zarco was further back in 18th. Teammate Diogo Moreira ended 19th after crashing twice during the day. The slower performance surprised the riders, especially Marini, who matched his best Mandalika finish of fifth last year. His 1m30.037s effort was three tenths slower than his top lap from the equivalent 2025 session, when he recorded 1m29.730s. Marini said he lacked front and rear grip all day and had less turning, with the front tyre offering poor feedback.
