Hyundai Recalls 96,000 SUVs For Bad Displays
Hyundai issued a recall covering 96,310 SUVs over a software issue that could make the instrument panel display go blank while driving. The affected vehicles include the 2025–2026 Hyundai Tucson, including both hybrid variants, where the recall report says a logic problem between the instrument panel and the head-up display could cause intermittent reboots during operation. If the displays reset, the driver might lose access to key information such as the speedometer, fuel gauge, or vehicle notifications. Hyundai states the vehicles do not meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. The automaker began investigating the issue in July 2025 after a customer complaint about intermittent display failure, and later identified an intermittent connection issue with the HUD external harness. Hyundai says it has not received reports of crashes, fires, injuries, or fatalities related to the problem. Owners will be instructed to visit dealers for a technician software update, while an over-the-air fix is being developed.
