Hyundai's red-hot new luxury SUV

Hyundai's red-hot new luxury SUV centers on Genesis’ GV60 Magma, a performance-oriented electric SUV with pricing published ahead of arrival in Australian showrooms this month. The GV60 Magma starts from $130,000 before on-road costs, about $50,000 more than the standard GV60. Genesis, Hyundai’s premium brand targeting European rivals such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, positions the vehicle as its first high-performance car effort. The Magma uses two electric motors sending power to all four wheels for 448kW and 740Nm, and it can boost to 478kW and 790Nm for 0–100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. A 84kWh battery delivers 425 km range under WLTP. Inside, it features a 27.0-inch OLED instrument and multimedia display plus a head-up display. Production was confirmed in mid-2024 after a concept debut.
