Infiniti Is Bringing Back a Manual Sedan -- And It Has 420 HP

Infiniti is betting on a niche performance play to help reverse its steep U.S. sales decline. The brand sold 153,415 vehicles in 2017 but only 52,846 in 2025, down 65.6% from its peak, as SUVs took over most of the volume—QX60 and QX80 together accounted for 84% of calendar-year sales. Infiniti says it will bring back a rear-wheel-drive sports sedan with a twin-turbo V6 and an optional manual gearbox, expecting roughly 1 in 10 buyers to choose the stick. Infiniti targets 100,000 units by 2029 and plans one new product each year, with the lineup currently centered on two nameplates.
