Italian's bold gamble pays off with flawless victory in Czech MotoGP sprint

Francesco Bagnaia delivered a bold sprint win in Brno as the Czech sprint concluded with a tactical masterclass that paid off on the track. Starting from third, the Ducati rider seized the lead at the first turn and built a commanding gap, finishing 0.241 seconds ahead of Ai Ogura, who set a new circuit lap record in qualifying. Bagnaia’s strategic tyre choice – one of just three top-10 riders on the soft rear Michelin – and a faultless final lap secured his first sprint victory of 2026. Marc Marquez, also on the soft rear, completed the podium in third. Bezzecchi crashed from fifth on the penultimate lap, reshaping the championship battle as Jorge Martin moved into fifth.
