Italy new car registrations rise 3.9% year-on-year in July

Italy’s new car registrations rose 3.9% year-on-year in July to 123,184 vehicles, according to transport ministry data released Monday. The first seven months totaled 1.06 million registrations, up 8.9% versus the same period last year. Stellantis, which leads the Italian market with brands including Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot and Leapmotor, matched the market trend in July, with sales up 3.8% and a 25.9% market share. Chinese makers kept gaining momentum: BYD deliveries climbed 127% to 4,466 units (3.63% share) and Chery’s Omoda/Jaecoo rose 168.5% to 3,786 units. Tesla’s July sales fell 77% to 105 units.
