Italy new car registrations up 10.6% year-on-year in June

Italian new car registrations rose in June, underscoring demand resilience despite competitive pressure from foreign and electric brands. Data from Italy’s transport ministry showed registrations up 10.6% year-on-year to 146,423 vehicles. In the first half of the year, registrations climbed 9.6% to 936,783 units versus the same period in 2025. Market leader Stellantis, whose brands include Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot and Leapmotor, gained faster momentum, with June sales up 22.4%. Stellantis’ market share reached 27.1% last month, up from 24.55% in June 2025. BYD posted year-on-year sales up 208.7% to 6,057 and about 4% share, while Chery’s Omoda/Jaecoo rose 214.8% to 4,086. Tesla’s June sales increased 42.8% to 2,423 units.
