Kasey Kahne joins Spire for full 2027 NASCAR Truck Series campaign
Kasey Kahne will return to NASCAR for a full-time NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series campaign in 2027 with Spire Motorsports, the team announced Wednesday. Kahne, now 46, is an 18-time NASCAR Cup Series winner and will compete for the first time in a full season since retiring from full-time Cup racing in 2018 due to health complications. He was named among NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers in 2023. The Enumclaw, Washington native has also won the Truck Series five times and has only made six starts there, with his best finish a second in 2010 at Pocono Raceway. His 2025 return included a drive for Richard Childress Racing and a 14th-place finish after being caught in an early crash at Rockingham. Kahne is scheduled to race again in the 2027 season opener at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 19.
