Kia issues 'park outside recall' for 460K vehicles over fire risk

Kia has issued a “park outside recall” for more than 460,000 vehicles due to a fire risk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall covers certain 2020–2024 Telluride models because the front power seat motor could overheat and potentially cause a fire while the vehicle is parked or in motion. NHTSA attributes the problem to “a stuck power seat slide knob” or an “improper recall 24V407 repair.” Kia will notify affected owners by mail starting Aug. 13, directing them to visit a Kia dealer for repairs. Until then, owners are told to park vehicles outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures. The agency also notes this is at least Kia’s third “park outside” recall in recent years.
