Kia's EV push is paying off with a full lineup from entry-level electric SUVs to vans
Kia’s EV push is paying off with a full lineup from entry-level electric SUVs to vans, boosting the automaker to its best first-half sales performance on record. In the first half of 2026, Kia sold over 1.63 million vehicles, its highest since it began selling cars in 1962, and posted year-over-year global sales growth for four straight months. The brand attributes momentum to “region-specific electrified vehicle strategies” and expanding all-electric offerings. In the UK, fully electric vehicles accounted for about 30% of sales, with 18,241 registered in the first half. Kia’s EV range spans the low-cost EV2/EV3 through the three-row EV9, plus its PV5 van. Kia’s EV2 long-range starts at £24,245 ($32,500) after a £3,750 ($5,000) Government Electric Car Grant. For the US, the EV3 is due by the end of 2026, with five trims and battery options of 58.3 kWh (220 miles) and 81.4 kWh (320 miles for FWD).
