List: National Merit Scholarship semifinalists from the Bay Area, class of 2027

About 16,000 high school students in the graduating class of 2027—less than 1% of U.S. seniors—were named National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalists after being selected based on Preliminary SAT scores, the National Merit organization said. Approximately 95% are expected to advance to finalist status through an application detailing academics, activities, employment and leadership. Roughly half of the finalists will win National Merit Scholarships, with awards to be announced in spring. The publication lists Bay Area semifinalists by city and high school, including students from schools such as Alameda High School, Menlo School, Sacred Heart Preparatory School, Carlmont High School, Notre Dame High School, Berkeley High School, and Burlingame schools, among others. The list is extensive and arranged alphabetically.
