Man arrested after police witness gunfire from pickup truck in Culver City

Culver City police arrested a man after officers said they witnessed gunfire from a moving pickup truck on a busy street late Friday night. The incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. Sept. 20 on Washington Boulevard near Centinela Avenue while officers traveled westbound. Police said a white pickup in the opposite direction drew attention due to muzzle flashes from the driver’s side and they heard about four to six shots. Officers attempted to stop the truck, but the driver didn’t yield, leading to a pursuit that ended on Inglewood Boulevard near Gilmore Avenue. Police said the driver ran, while two other people in the vehicle were detained without incident. With help from LAPD, officers located the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Lancaster resident Keven Lawrence Brown. During a search, police found a loaded .40-caliber Glock handgun under a floor mat near the front passenger seat and recovered .40-caliber casing near the roadway. Brown was booked on multiple firearm-related charges, and officials said no injuries were reported as of Sunday morning. The investigation remains ongoing.
