Man buys 200 abandoned cars from South Carolina off Facebook Marketplace and he's left with a decision to make
A U.S. car enthusiast bought 200 abandoned vehicles from South Carolina via Facebook Marketplace, turning a browsing habit into a large-scale project. The buyer, a YouTuber who describes himself as a Marketplace addict, noticed an advertisement for older BMW, Mercedes, and Audi parts in June 2024. After receiving no response, he told the seller he would buy every vehicle on the property, visited the site the next day, and found a rare collection. With help from a friend, he and the seller’s operation required months of work, including transporting the cars to a rented lot. The inventory includes a Mercedes-Benz 500SEC, multiple BMW 6 Series models, a rare BMW 540i M Sport manual, and dozens of degraded BMW E30s, plus around 25 BMW 2002 and 1600 models and other brands such as Volvo, Peugeot, Saab, and Nissan. The biggest challenge now is deciding which cars to restore and which to sell, as most vehicles are reportedly for sale except a few reserved projects.
