Marquez defended Bezzecchi after the Aprilia rider suffered a fractured collarbone during German Grand Prix qualifying at the Sachsenring. Bezzecchi was forced to withdraw midway through the weekend following a highside on Saturday, a further blow to his title hopes. The injury came weeks after he was suspended from the Czech Grand Prix for slapping a marshal following the Brno sprint. Marquez also referenced prior incidents involving injuries after crashes in gravel, arguing karma is not real and urging fans not to target rivals. He added that Bezzecchi crashed in Turn 7 just four minutes into Q2, after posting the third-fastest time, and later medical checks confirmed the collarbone fracture. Gresini’s Alex Marquez suggested physical limitations may have contributed to the fall.
