Meet the New Porsche 911 GT4 R Race Car
Porsche has introduced a new customer race car for the SRO GT4 series: the 911 GT4 R. The car is priced at $375,500, including import and delivery to the United States, and Porsche expects deliveries in time for the 2027 motorsports season. Built for sprint and endurance events under the SRO Motorsports Group, it targets championships such as Pirelli GT4 America in North America, which features 60-minute double-header races at tracks including Sonoma, COTA, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The GT4 R can also run in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in the GS class, competing on Michelin tires. It uses a 4.0-liter (3,996 cc) water-cooled flat-six producing 520 hp at 8,400 rpm and 347 lb-ft of torque at 6,150 rpm, subject to SRO BoP. Power goes through a six-speed sequential dog-type gearbox to a mechanical limited-slip differential. The car weighs 3,340 pounds and has a welded FIA-compliant roll cage permitted for a passenger/co-driver.
