Mercedes-Benz reveals the 2028 GLA in two flavors and plenty of cool tech

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the redesigned 2028 GLA in two powertrain options: fully electric and hybrid. The compact SUV will sit on the brand’s next-generation MMA platform, similar to the recently refreshed CLA. The electric lineup comes in two trims. The GLA250+ uses a single motor with 268 horsepower and prioritizes range, while the GLA350 adds a second motor for all-wheel drive, bringing 349 horsepower and a 0–60 mph time of 5.3 seconds. Both versions share an 85-kWh battery and Mercedes’ 800-volt system, with peak charging up to 320 kW. Mercedes rates the electric GLA250+ at up to 408 miles on Europe’s WLTP scale, while U.S. estimates are closer to 350 miles. Inside, a digital cabin includes an optional 14-inch Superscreen and MBUX with Gemini and ChatGPT integration; production details place U.S. sales in the second half of 2027.
