Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback Will Come Only In $39,740 Loaded Trim, Unlike $30K Nissan Leaf Twin - Jalopnik
xCruzo Brief
Mitsubishi’s 2027 Eclipse Sportback, positioned as a Leaf alternative, is priced higher than expected. The company announced official pricing on Tuesday: the compact electric car goes on sale this month with a starting MSRP of $39,740, including a $1,995 destination charge. That makes it substantially more expensive than its Nissan Leaf twin, which can be bought for as low as $31,565 in the base S+ trim. The comparison isn’t one-to-one on equipment, however. Mitsubishi will sell the Eclipse Sportback in a single, fully loaded trim, while Nissan offers three Leaf versions: S+ at $31,565, SV+ at $35,805, and Platinum+ at $40,565, with the Platinum+ said to be roughly equivalent to the Eclipse’s lone configuration.
