MotoGP Malaysian GP: Marc Marquez takes dominant win to inch closer to title
Marc Marquez delivered a dominant win at the Malaysian Grand Prix, moving closer to sealing the 2026 MotoGP title. The factory Ducati rider took the lead at the start and built a cushion through the first half of the race, with Alex Marquez acting as a rear-gunner. Pedro Acosta fought with the Gresini rider and got past on lap 10, but he could not match Marc’s pace as Marquez cruised to the finish for his seventh grand prix win of the season. The points swing leaves him 44 ahead of injured Jorge Martin and 67 in front of Marco Bezzecchi, making an early wrap possible at next week’s Qatar Grand Prix. Alex finished third despite a shoulder injury, and Bezzecchi dropped to sixth after a late battle with Ai Ogura. Marquez took the flag 4.1 seconds clear for his 80th premier-class win.
