MotoGP Practice Results | Kanagroo and Marquez crash cause red flags
Practice at the Australian Grand Prix in Phillip Island turned chaotic, with red flags triggered by both a crash and an animal on track. Marco Bezzecchi led the timesheets with a 1’26.775, following his win in Indonesia and continuing strong championship form. With 10 minutes remaining, Bezzecchi touched the back of Alex Marquez’s Gresini exiting Turn 4, causing a large section of his fairing to come loose as he launched into the air and went into the gravel after the session was red-flagged to recover parts. Eight minutes later, the second red flag came when a kangaroo entered the circuit. The animal wasn’t in a dangerous spot, escaped quickly over the barriers, and sessions resumed. Marquez finished sixth after a late crash, while Bezzecchi stayed in front. Jack Miller ended 12th and must go through Q1.
