Driver crashes into Detroit Metro Airport terminal looking to "meet Tom Cruise and save his dad"

A man crashed an SUV into the Evans Terminal at Detroit Metro Airport on Friday morning, around 9:30 a.m., in Romulus, Michigan. Police say the 67-year-old driver traveled the wrong way down Rogell Drive, breached barricades, and rammed the Cadillac SUV into the terminal’s front door near a security checkpoint. The driver was arrested about 9:40 a.m. and appeared disoriented; no weapons were found. One traveler sustained a possible minor injury but refused treatment and continued her flight. Operations at Evans Terminal resumed by 11:30 a.m.; no flights were disrupted. Investigators will file a report for possible charges; the suspect’s identity has not been released. The incident followed a January crash at McNamara Terminal.
