Colombia EV Sales Report: Sales Grow 316% in April, EVs Now +20% Market Share!

Colombia's April 2026 EV sales surged to almost 6,000 units, more than tripling April 2025. BEV market share rose to about 20% from 7.4% a year earlier, as Tesla deliveries surged after late-2025 price cuts. Tesla’s Colombian share reached 22% in April, with BYD at 21%; Model Y was the top-selling EV in April and overall, followed by BYD Yuan Up and Model 3. Deepal S05, Spark EUV, and Captiva EV also made the top-10 list. Over the first four months, Tesla leads the market, with BYD close behind; the market appears to be tilting toward Tesla as MG4, Geely EX2/EX5, Dongfeng Viggo, and Chery E5 enter the mix.
