Nissan Just Recalled 168,149 Full-Size SUVs Because a Sticker Has the Wrong Number on It

Nissan is recalling 168,149 full-size, three-row SUVs due to an incorrect number on a certification label, not a mechanical failure. The issue concerns the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) printed inside the driver’s door on certain 2020–2026 Armada, 2011–2013 Infiniti QX56, and 2014–2027 Infiniti QX80 models built with 22-inch wheels; the label overstates how much weight the axle can actually carry. The recall was filed with the U.S. NHTSA on July 15, 2026 as campaign 26V455000. Nissan states the mismatch can increase crash risk because overload conditions may violate Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110. Dealers will install corrected labels free of charge, and owner notification letters are expected to be sent September 4, 2026.
