Nissan records profit of $24M in fiscal 1Q | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Nissan said it returned to profit in its fiscal first quarter, reporting a $24 million net gain from April to June, reversing the roughly $737.7 million loss it recorded in the same period of 2025. The company attributed the improvement to cost-cutting and better sales in some regions. Quarterly revenue totaled $19 billion, up 9.5% from $17.2 billion a year earlier. Nissan has been operating in the red for two fiscal years, but leadership reiterated its goal to return to profitability in the year ending March 2027. CEO Ivan Espinosa said cost reductions are building momentum, while challenges persist in parts of the Middle East and China. The company also cited disruption from a 7.1 earthquake in Kumamoto that partially stalled production lines, affecting about 5,000 vehicles.
