Sinopec, China’s biggest fuel retailer, has converted a Shanghai service station into an EV-only charging hub by ripping out its underground gasoline tanks and installing BYD 1,500 kW “flash” chargers. Located at 1209 Huqingping Road, the site is the first jointly operated location under the BYD–Sinopec partnership. The chargers run from onboard Blade LFP battery buffers (four packs per charger, 169–185 kWh each), while the station draws about 100 kW from the grid, avoiding the need for a substation upgrade. Six T-shaped chargers provide 12 charging spots, with estimated single-connector charging of 10–70% in about five minutes (colder weather extends times).
