Old-School Box Speakers Are Back -- and Pioneer's New 'Cassette Deck' Car Stereo Is Finally Coming to America

Pioneer is bringing back an ’80s/’90s vibe for car audio with its Heritage Collection, pairing a retro-styled modern head unit with classic “box” speakers. Working with RADwood, the company will sell the SXT-C10PS single-DIN head unit in the US, along with the TS-X40SXT speakers. Pioneer says the setup is designed for vintage-cabin style, while still adding modern conveniences such as Bluetooth, HD Radio, and SiriusXM readiness. Pricing is $499 for the head unit and $300 for the box speakers (sold as a pair). US shipping is expected by Nov. 2.
