One dead, two injured following a three-vehicle crash in Georgetown
Delaware State Police are investigating a three-vehicle fatal crash that occurred around 7:20 a.m. on June 19 along Old Furnace Road in Georgetown, east of Rementer Road. A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east when it crossed the dashed center line and sideswiped a Toyota Sienna traveling west, then continued to strike the front of a Nissan Rogue. The Silverado’s 52-year-old Lincoln man driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and his name was being withheld pending family notification. The Toyota’s 50-year-old Georgetown woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized, while the Nissan’s 33-year-old Seaford man suffered serious injuries and was flown to a regional hospital.
Emergency responders closed the roadway for about four hours while the crash was investigated. The Delaware State Police said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Master Corporal R. Albert at 302-703-3266.
