Plus points and areas of improvement identified at care home in Hurlford

Newhouse Care Home in Hurlford has been rated “good” after an unannounced inspection by the Care Inspectorate, with the latest findings published following an August visit. Inspectors said the service made “good progress” in improving how residents’ health needs are assessed, recorded and monitored. They highlighted “person-centred care plans” and “strong partnership working” with healthcare professionals, along with “increased opportunities” for residents to take part in activities and enjoy “meaningful daily experiences.” Leadership also took “positive action” to improve culture, practice and staff accountability. However, the Care Inspectorate required Newhouse to strengthen evidence of how people, families and advocates are involved in review processes. The home is registered for up to 22 adults.
