Pogacar finds joy in winning and helping teammate Del Toro

Tadej Pogačar celebrated a record-equalling fifth Tour de France title on Sunday by focusing on helping teammate Isaac del Toro secure third place overall. In contrast to last year’s grumpy version linked to knee issues, Pogačar appeared joyful throughout this edition, highlighted by him singing “Torito” at a Saturday press event. He offered del Toro the win in the second stage in Barcelona despite the bonus seconds he could have earned. Pogačar also drove key moments on hard climbing days, including pushing in stage 10 on the way to a commanding lead over Jonas Vingegaard, who later withdrew on stage 15 after a crash. With Vingegaard out, Pogačar became a “dream teammate” for del Toro while he finished on the Tour’s toughest climbs.
