xCruzo Brief

Polestar says it will stop selling cars in the United States starting with the 2027 model year after the U.S. Department of Commerce declined authorization under a new Connected Vehicles Rule. The regulation was announced in 2025 and targets the import and sale of certain connected-vehicle technologies linked to China or Russia. Polestar will continue to sell existing inventory of the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 in the U.S. and will keep access to its service network. The company is owned by Volvo and Geely Holding Group, the Chinese operator of Geely Auto. Volvo, by contrast, was granted authorization to import and sell vehicles at the end of May. Polestar also said 94% of its retail sales in the first quarter of 2026 came from outside the U.S.
