Renault to build pickup truck in Argentina aimed at South America's car buyers
xCruzo Brief
Renault has unveiled the Niagara pickup truck, with production planned at its Córdoba plant in Argentina. The model is designed to expand the French automaker’s presence in Latin America while helping reduce its dependence on Europe, which accounted for more than 70% of Renault sales in the first half of 2026. Pickup trucks make up as much as 30% of vehicle sales in the region. Longer than the outgoing Renault Oroch, the Niagara will target the half-ton segment against rivals including the Fiat Toro, Ford Maverick, Chevrolet Montana and RAM Rampage. Sales are set to begin in Brazil, Argentina and Colombia, starting with combustion-engine models, followed by hybrids.
