Scout Motors Celebrates Its Patriotic Past With The Spirit Of '26 SUV
Scout Motors has revived its patriotic roots with the one-off “Spirit of ’26 Traveler” SUV, created to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. The red, white and blue concept draws on a 1976 International Harvester bicentennial initiative and Olympic-themed trucks built for the U.S. ski team, using graphics that echo the original off-roaders with modern styling tweaks. Scout says the vehicle is a concept with no actual powertrain, though it was envisioned using its extended-range electric propulsion system and could also accommodate a pure EV drivetrain. Revealed on the company blog, it gestures toward upcoming production plans for new models targeting a 2028 launch, while the brand contends with a cooling EV market, the loss of federal tax credits, lawsuits, and production delays.
