Single-vehicle crash kills 29-year-old man driving pickup truck on Barkerville Highway

A 29-year-old man died when his pickup left Barkerville Highway near Slough Creek Forest Service Road at about 8:20 p.m. Friday. The driver, the sole occupant, was ejected and emergency crews attempted life-saving measures but could not revive him. RCMP Sgt. Clay Kronebusch said the pickup had been the subject of an erratic driving complaint about 90 minutes earlier. Speed and alcohol are suspected factors as the investigation continues. No other vehicles were involved in the crash; the incident occurred on Barkerville Highway near Quesnel, British Columbia.
