Smart Eye Unveils World-First Multimodal Automotive AI Agent Combining Human, Vehicle and Environmental Context
Smart Eye announced a world-first multimodal in-cabin automotive AI agent demonstration, set for InCabin Europe 2026. The company says the system can interpret context, decide what to do next, and take action using inputs from the driver and the vehicle’s surroundings. It combines voice, driver identity, gaze, attention, emotion, driver state, and occupancy, along with data from interior and exterior sensing systems. Smart Eye argues that adding this multimodal context reduces the computing required to reach useful outcomes, potentially accelerating the path toward production. In the demo, the agent performs tasks through connected vehicle functions, generates dashboard widgets with live cabin data, and can pair gaze with exterior sensing to understand what a driver is referring to outside the car.
