Sotheby’s celebrated its best-ever UK summer sale by grossing £15,975,765 (about £16 million) at the Royal Automobile Club Concours at Woodcote Park, in partnership with RM Sotheby’s. The top lot was a 1990 Ferrari F40 “Jean Sage” by Michelotto, sold for £3,605,000, after exceeding its pre-sale expectation. Just behind, a distinctive 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.8 “Strassenversion” achieved £3,492,500, also surpassing its estimate by more than £1 million. The auction highlighted rare vehicles including a 1966 Aston Martin DB5 Shooting Brake by Radford, one of 12 factory-built examples, which sold for £848,750. RM Sotheby’s also reported a strong result with a 1990 BMW M3 Sport Evolution, where a 4,503 km car reached £404,375. The event was conducted by Sholto Gilbertson, Director of Sales, UK.
